A Red Alarm: The Increasing Educational Cost$$$
Recently news from the IIT breaks the heart of the aspirants. It is about the fee hike in the courses offered by the most wanted institute in the country. It is not going to be a small hike; the report says that the candidates have to pay an additional Rs.2 lakhs for the undergraduate program in the institutes. The related source says that the IITs are planning to increase the fee structure so as to reduce the grand from Government and to become more financially independent.
Now the course fee will be from Rs.50, 000 to Rs.2.5 lakhs. There is a heated discussion in the nation related to this decision and there is a common question, is this hike justifiable?
Justification given by the concerned authority can be accepted or not. This scenario indicates the increasing educational cost in our country. It has come to a stage where education cost is now being compared to the Gold price.
The Indian parents are disturbed by the huge cost associated with the education of the children, even in the primary level. The increasing popularity of the private schools and the central syllabus also support the increasing cost of the education process. Now it becomes a nightmare for all of the higher study aspirants and their parents to support the financial needs of a particular course. Many parent as well as the students depend on the banks for such support and it later proves liability over them.
In India, there are many talented and deserving people who are kept way from the desired course because of the financial incapability. The online degrees and distance education came forward as a remedy for the increasing cost of education. But these are not an effective solution for many courses such as the science and technological field.
Now the condition in India is like that studying abroad is cheaper than that of pursuing a course in our country. But that also is not feasible to every sector of people in the nation. Although we are living in a world where education is the most essential part of the human life and is the base of the future success, we can’t simply ignore this for any cost. Here we can work out some ways that support the financial need of the educational programs in India.
Scholarships!!!!
Scholarships or the “Free Money,” sometimes completely or partially support the course fee of various programs. The students avail to scholarship schemes in the school level itself. There are millions of scholarship programs in our country for the students in the various fields. The scholarship can be in the State or National or in the International level. They may be offered by the Government or the Private organization or the Corporate. There are different Institutions and Unions offering Scholarships program for the students. Rajiv Gandhi Science Talent scholarship, Bharath Petroleum Scholarships for higher studies, National Brain Research Center Scholarship, Fair and Lovely Foundation Scholarship are some of the scholarships in India.
But the real problem is the scarcity of such programs. Very few students can avail this have to find the best way to fund your program. Every program is not mean for every student. Each scholarship has its own target group and its own objective. The students must identify the available program for them and try to get for those. There is nothing bad in getting the benefit of two or more programs.
Every Scholarship program has its own eligibility criteria and its unique way to select the candidates. The students should have complete information about these programs like the deadlines, essential requirements etc. and the way to reach out the same. There may be examinations carried out for to find the most deserved one for the program. These exams are highly cutthroats due to the larger number of applications, so the students need to be prepared before taking the exams.
In today’s condition the scholarships are the most effective way to support the educational cost. This is like angel support for you in your studies. You don’t have to worry about the cost part and you can freely concentrate on your study part. Though it is so difficult to get these scholarships that can be justified by “Nothings Comes Easily…”
Count Your Time????
If you are not having any support from the different scholarship program another way is to study hard to get a good percentile in the program you are doing. Many institutions are offering the fees concession for the students with high percentile in their certificates. This will also help them to be in the merit list and be able to join the Government colleges for the higher studies. Even the private sector institute also gives consideration for the students having high percentage in their academics.
Hence working hard is not only helping you to become an expert but it also seems to support your education expense.
Part Time Job…
This is one of the growing trends among the graduates. It is a common lifestyle of the students in the metro and now it is getting wider popularity in the rural area also. Initially it is considered to be the means ofgetting the pocket money. Now it becomes a source to meet the expenses related to the studies.
There are many firms and private organizations looking for the part timers and offering a handsome amount as remuneration. The pizza huts and other fast food restaurants are the prominent one in the part-time industry for the graduates. Maybe this option won’t work for the technical and research candidates but the statistics shows that about a 30-40% of the graduates in various universities and colleges in India are receiving the advantage of the part time jobs.
The parents can also do some forecast in the education cost of the children. There are various insurance policies and programs in our country for to support the cost related to the children seduction. The parent needs to plan for the future need and the small savings can make a big difference in future. Now the world become costlier so as every commodity and the services. We can’t neglect the essentials and there is no other way than to plan the future. If you are not a silvers spoon feed, learn to manage the cost and take the advantage of the each opportunities…
