National eligibility test or NET is a competitive examination, a test held to determine the eligibility for lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship. Students succeeding in this test are tested as per the standard of teaching.

What is taught in this paper?

The paper is about the study of ancient cultures, regional languages, typical properties of a language and the related things.

Importance of this subject:

The paper is a subject which enhances and keeps alive the cultures, languages and the paper is a subjective paper and candidates can score good marks. The subject not only targets the language, but it also about the grammar, societal impact, dances, folk songs and folk dance.

Paper Pattern:

The paper is an objective one with multiple choices. There are 50 questions in the paper and all questions have 4 choices to choose from. Questions are of true or false statements, match making also. There are no negative marking for incorrect answers. All questions are compulsory. Each question is of equal marks. Use of calculators and log books are not allowed in this paper.

The paper contains objective questions such as propounder of ‘Bongaism’, progress of a country or society, study of castes, tribes of Jharkhand, ‘Tar Saptak’, modern play of Prasad, importance of literature than subject, dramatic art, Oraons and their songs, proverbs, words, structural similarity of songs & essay, basic motivation for poetic creativity according to Marx, ‘Dhirlalit’ character, ‘Upmeya’ and ‘Upmana’ in ‘UpamaAlankar’, folk songs etc.

Marks and time:

The paper is of 100 marks for the student and time which is allotted to solve the paper is 1 hours and 15 minutes.  Each question is of 2 marks each.
