Union Public Service Commission was formed on October 1, 1926 as a constitutional body in the Republic of India. The commission mainly aims to conduct competitive examinations for making appointment to various government positions or civil services of India. The commission has its head office located at Dholpur House, Shah Jahan Road, New Delhi. The first ever public service commission was established by the then British Indian Government. The formation of the first public service commission was resulted in response to the demands of Indian politicians.

Online applications are invited by Union Public Service Commission from eligible and qualified candidates for filling up the following positions of Assistant Director Air Safety (Engineering/Senior Air Safety Officer (Engineering)), Air Safety Officer (Engineering), Senior Scientific Officer Grade-II (Finger Print) and Specialist Grade-II (Dermatology).

1. Recruitment of Assistant Director Air Safety (Engineering)/ Senior Air Safety Officer (Engineering):
No. of posts: Only 10 posts are available.
Age Limit: maximum age limit is 40 years.
Educational Qualification: Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from a recognized university with atleast 5 years experience in airframe, aircraft structure system etc.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.

2. Recruitment of Air Safety Officer (Engineering):
No. of posts: Only 43 posts are available.
Age Limit: maximum age limit is 35 years.
Educational Qualification: Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from a recognized university with some years of experience in investigation of aircraft accidents.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

3. Recruitment of Senior Scientific Officer Grade-II (Finger Print):
No. of posts: Only 3 posts are available.
Age Limit: maximum age limit is 35 years.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc. Degree in Chemistry from a recognized university with atleast 3 years experience in laboratory in development and identification of Finger Prints.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

4. Recruitment of Specialist Grade-II (Dermatology):
No. of posts: Only 10 posts are available.
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 45 years.
Educational Qualification: Post Graduate degree or Diploma in conerned speciality from a recognized university with atleast 3 years experience in relevant field.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.
