Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences is conducting an entrance exam for nursing called as Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences Entrance Exam- B Sc Nursing (AIMS B Sc Nursing Entrance Test) every year for selecting eligible candidates for the course. All the candidates with the required eligibility can apply for this entrance exam. Amrita university is one of the most respected deemed universities in India. Candidates passing this entrance exam will be given admission in Amrita School of Nursing.

Structure of AIMS B Sc Nursing Entrance Test

The exam will be objective type with two hundred questions. These are to be answered within three hours. Biology section will carry 40 marks, chemistry section will carry 60 marks and physics section will carry 40 marks. There will be questions for twenty marks from the General Knowledge and English section.

The questions will include history questions and geographical questions.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A candidate with a pass certificate in the 10+2 exam can apply. But the candidate should have passed the public exam in the first attempt itself and should have scored more than 60% in the exam.
  • Applicants should have also scored 60% or more in English and 60% for biology, physics and chemistry when taking the average of the three.
  • 10+2 are also eligible to apply.

All the candidates applying for the exam should be having an age below 23 years and greater than 17 years.

How to Apply?

From March onwards forms are available from the AIMS. Candidates need to pay Rs.1250 for the form. South Indian bank, FBI and dhanalaksmi bank also has a counter for selling application froms. Candidates can buy the form from there. Candidate can apply through the website of the AIMS also. The website address is www.amrita.edu. Candidate applying online should sent a DD of Rs.1320 to the Admission Coordinator, Office of Admissions, Amrita Health Sciences Campus, AIMS Ponekkara, Kochi, Kerala - 682041

How to fill the Form?

Candidate can first of all write all the data to be entered in the form in a paper. Then check the paper for any wrong entries. If there is, then correct the same and re check it. If everything is found correct, then candidate can fill the form using that paper. Otherwise candidate can ask for parental guidance and fill the form with their help.

Important Dates (Tentative)

  • Application forms will be available from the last week of January, 2012.
  • Deadline for submitting the application from is February, 2012 first week.
  • Exam will be in May, 2012.

Study Plan

Give more preference to biology which includes zoology and botany. Weightage will be more for this section. Study the text books of 11 Th and 12 Th thoroughly. Study materials can also be used but first of all candidate must go through the text books. Tuition centers can also be approached, but find the best one and go there for tuition.
