UP Rural Institute of Medical Sciences & Research was established by UPRIMS&R, Saifai, Act 2005. The institute is affialiated to a university in accordance with the provisions of the Uttar Pradesh State University Act, 1973. Dr. T. Prabhakar is the Director of the institute. The institute came into existence as a premier teaching and research institute located at Saifai Village in the Distrcit of Etawah. The major objective behind the establishment of this institute was to help and implement state of art medical facility to cover rural population stretching from Mathura to Auraiya and Furrukhabad to Bhind.

Candidates should submit an application fee of Rs. 100 in the form of a Demand Draft. Rs. 50 is the amount of application fee that is need to be submitted by SC/ST categories candidates only.
