Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) was intially established as the Federal Public Service Commission on October 1, 1926. The commission was established under the Government of India Act 1935. Later under the Government of India Act 1935, the formation of the Public Service Commissions at the Provincial level was also made as a provision. Federal Public Service Commission was later changed into an autonomous entity named Union Public Service Commission on January 26, 1950.

Union Public Service Commission invites applications from the eligible candidates in the prescribed performa for the positions of Assistant Director (Entomology), Assistant Director(Industrial Management & Training) and Deputy Director (Metallurgy) in various ministeries or departments which comes under the Government of India.

Posts available in the Directorate of Plant Protection, Ministry of Agriculture.

1. Recruitment of Assistant Director (Entomology):
No. of posts: Only 10 posts are available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 43 years.
Educational Qualification: Master of Science Degree in Entomology or Nematology or AGriculture from a recognized university or equivalenbt is required for the post.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

Posts available in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

2. Recruitment of Assistant Director Grade-I (Industrial Management & Training):
No. of posts: Only 2 posts are available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 40 years.
Educational Qualification: Degree in Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent. Candidates having Post graduate degree or Diploma in Industrial Management or Business Management or Business Administration from a recognized University are also eligible for the post.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

3. Recruitment of Deputy Director (Metallurgy):

Age Limit: Upper age limit is 35 years.
Educational Qualification: Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science or Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent with atleast 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

Candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 50 only. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH and Women categories are exempted from the payment of this application fee. The application fee must be paid in the shape of Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. Payment of this application fee is must for applying for any of the above specified post.
