Punjab State Power Corporation Limited is looking for brilliant, young and dynamic candidates for the positions of Assistant Manager (IT Systems) and Safety Officer and here are the details regarding the notification issued in this regard:

Name of the Vacancies: Assistant Manager/IT Systems, Safety Officer

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 23, which is divided between the two positions as follows:

• Assistant Manager/IT Systems - 20

• Safety Officer - 03

Pay Scale: For both positions, candidates will be coming under the pay scale of Rs.16500+39100 + Grade pay of Rs.5800.

Eligibility requirements:

Educational Qualification:

Assistant Manager/IT Systems: Full-time regular B. Sc/B. Tech/B.E. in IT/Computer Science with not less than 60% of marks or equivalent degree recognized by AICTE or full-time regular MCA or Master’s degree in IT with at least 60% of marks.

Safety Officer – Full-time regular BE/B. Tech/B. Sc Engineering degree in electrical/mechanical engineering with not less than 60% of marks with PG diploma in industrial safety from a recognized university or institution.

Candidates must have studied Punjabi at least up to matriculation or class X level.

Age: For both the positions, candidates must be between the age group of 20 and 37 years as on the 1st of January 2011. Upper age relaxation applicable for SC/ST candidates is 5 years, for PH candidates is 10 years and to the extent of service offered in armed forces of Union of India for Ex-servicemen.

Selection Procedure:

Eligible candidates will have to take up written test and merit list shall be prepared according to the marks secured by the candidates in the written test. The minimum qualifying marks in written test for general category candidates is 50% and for reserved category candidates is 40%. Application fee:

Fee to be paid by general category and candidates other then SC category is Rs.500 per application and for SC category, the fee to be paid is Rs.200. Fee should be paid through challan in any branch of State Bank of Patiala and no other mode of payment will be accepted. Candidates after initial registration can take printout of the filled up form and challan form for payment of fee and after payment of fee in SBOP, they will be allotted with a computer generated transaction Number that will be indicated in the candidate copy of the challan.
