Jawaharlal Nehru University has its urban campus located at New Delhi in an area of 1000 acres. Professor Sudhir Kumar Sopory is the Vice Chancellor of the university while Mr. Yash Pal is the Chancellor. The university has an academic staff of total 550 personnel. This education and research university was established in the year 1969 by an act of Parliament. The university was named after the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The university was founded by Indira Gandhi with the aim of having a premier institution for higher learning and also for promoting research and teaching activities.

Eligible and qualified candidates are invited to apply for the vacant faculty position of Assistant Professor in Jawaharlal Nehru University. The posts of Assistant Professor are available in various areas of specialization. The vacancies are available in Schhol of Arts & Aesthetics, School of Computational and Integrated Sciences, School of Computer and System Sciences, Schhol of Life Sciences, School of Physical Sciences, Special Centre for Sanskrit Studies, School of International Studies, Special Centre for Nano Sciences, School of Social Sciences etc.

Eligibility:

Candidates should be within the prescribed age limit set for the post of Assistant Professor in Jawaharlal Nehru University. Candidates should have age more than the prescribed minimum age limit but not more than the prescribed maximum age limit. There may be relaxation provided to the candidates belonging to reserved categories as per thr ules of Government of India.

Educational Qualification:

The minimum educational qualification required for the specified post is M.Phil and Ph.D. in the relevant field from a recognized university. Candidates should possess a good academic record with atleast 55% marks in aggregate at the Master’s degree level. Candidates must also have passed the National Eligibility Test conducted by the University Grants Commission. Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be given the prescribed amount of salary i.e Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6000.

A demand draft of Rs. 500 is need to be submitted by the General and OBC categories candidates. No fee is to be submitted by the candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. The demand draft should be payable on any nationalized bank and it should be drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, Jawaharlal Nehru University payable at New Delhi. Submission of application fee is must for General and OBC candidates.

Selection Process:

Selection of eligible candidates will be made only on the basis of their performance in the interview test. A selection committee will take the interview test of shortlisted candidates.
