Central Board of Secondary Education was formed on November 3, 1962 under Government of India. Mr. Vineet Joshi is the present Chairman of the board. The parent organization of the board is Ministry of Human Resource Development. The board has its headquarter located at New delhi. The board acts as a Board Of Education for public and private schools which comes under the Union Government of India. Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education was the first education borad set up in the country. It later became the Central Board of Secondary education in the year 1952.

Selection Process:

Selection of eligible canddiates will be made through the conduct of Written test (if necessary) and Personal Interview test. Candidates are required to qualify in both the stages of the selection process for getting selected in CBSE. Only successfull candidates of the first stage of selection process will be allowed to appear in the second stage.
