Atal Bihari Vajpayee-Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management is considered to be a premier institute for information technology and management which conducts an admission process for admission in to its PhD programs. The only institution of its kind in India, IIITM is at the vanguard of imparting superior quality higher education and pertinent skills. It is located in the city of Gwalior, in the northern part of the state of Madhya Pradesh.

The Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management was established by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India in the year 1997 and is situated in the historic city of Gwalior.  It is the first IIIT in India which was founded by Ministry of HRD, Government of India and has the status of Deemed to be University. IIITM Gwalior is the foremost institution providing technical and managerial education in the areas of IT and management in India.

Campus:

The Atal Bihari Vajpayee-Indian Institute of Information Technology was previously situated in a suitable place at the Sonjana village, Gwalior which was allotted free of cost by the Madhya Pradesh government and was replaced in 1998 on the land of Morena in 60.67 hectares of land. This institute is presently located at the foothills of Gwalior and is very near from the main Railway station and the Airport. The Campus houses latest amenities, best sitting arrangement, team of highly educated and dedicated teachers, workshop, library etc.

Admission in to its PhD program is based on an entrance test and an interview conducted at the institute. IIITM provides PhD programs in a number of fields like Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, management & Applied Sciences.

Eligibility criteria:

The candidate must have master’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Management or Applied Sciences or a MBA degree with engineering background with atleast 65% aggregate marks or CGPA of 7.0 in qualifying exam. Final year candidates can also apply.
