Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri
This University is located in the northern most state of J & K or Jammu and Kashmir of the republic of India. The university was laid down by the legislative assembly act in the state. This act was passed in the year of 2002 by the same name as that of the university. The university proudly has been working for the objective stated in the gazette of the act which is providing high quality knowledge and the research work as well. The institute mainly offers the post graduate courses but also provides the graduate engineering degree.
Continuing the details of the courses that the university offers under its name are belonging to two categories:
• Engineering: the university offers the B.Tech course in three limited trades that are computer science, electronics and communication and finally information technology.
• Post graduate courses: under this the candidate is offered a masters degree in the fields of management (business and financial), computer sciences and information technology, language like Arabic and Islamic studies and applied mathematics.
The campus of the university being in such a beautiful state is located in the step hills of the Pir Panjal range hosting up the town of Rajouri, which is located at an approximated distance of 154 km from the capital city of Jammu during the winter season. The university campus can be easily reached by a three and half hour drive from Jammu via the state public transport among the magnificent scenarios around.
The university besides its quality education also has the care for the environment it gives its students fro their overall development. The campus holds the facilities like a 24 hour Internet access, communication skill enhancement trainings, and active and dynamic placement cell. The scholarship scheme in the university is much talked of with 605 of the university students getting scholarship aid from various state and country bodies. The campus also provides the residence facility via its separate hostels for boys and girls with all the basic amenities readily available round the clock. The hostel besides this boasts the presence of a dispensary, a shopping mall and a regular bus service for the ease of the students and that too at all subsidized rates.
