Banaras Hindu University (BHU) conducts Postgraduate Entrance Test (PET) every year for the admittance of eligible ones to its various masters programme. Admissions to these courses will be on the basis of merit in the PET. M.A. in Mass Communication in BHU is a 2 year course for the admittance to which the candidates have to clear the entrance exam conducted by the university.

Structure of BHU M.A. in Mass Communication Entrance Exam

BHU M.A. in Mass Communication Entrance Exam shall consist of a single paper comprising of 150 multiple choice questions. The total duration of the entrance exam is 150 minutes. There shall be negative marking. Three marks will be awarded for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect ones. The exam carries a maximum mark of 450.

  • General Aptitude Questions (inferences from percentages, tables, graphs, etc)

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates those who have done with their graduate degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks are eligible to apply for the BHU M.A. in Mass Communication Entrance Exam. Those who have completed the post graduate degree in any subject securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate, both at graduate and post graduate levels are also eligible for the same. Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination may also apply.

How to Apply?

The application form accompanied with the information brochure for the BHU M.A. in Mass Communication Entrance Exam can be obtained from the Office of Controller of Examinations, Banaras Hindu University or from some other concerned centres of the University by payment  of Rs.50/-. One can also be submit the form via online through the University’s official website www.bhu.ac.in. The Candidates should pay the entrance fee of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 200/- in case of SC/ ST candidates) in any branch of State Bank of India. The challan of application fee payment along with the completed application form and other required enclosures has to be sent to Office of the Controller of Examinations, BHU before the due date.

How to fill the Form?

The application form of PET has to be filled by the candidate in capital letters using either ink or ball point pen. While entering the name in respective column, leave one box blank between first and middle name and also between middle and last name or initials of names. The name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth and other personal details in the application form should be exactly the same as mentioned in the higher secondary certificate. Any divergence, whenever revealed, may lead to cancellation of one’s candidature. Paste a recent color photograph of the candidate inside the box provided. Also make sure that the name, address and code number of the issuing branch, journal number, date and amount of Challan is entered correctly in the appropriate boxes provided for these. The form number in the left top side of the application form has to be noted which may be needed by candidate for any future correspondence.
