B.sc in Biotechnology
Biotechnology, as the name suggests, is a combination of Biology and Technology together. Biotechnology deals with the study of various biological spheres along with the application of technology in it. Bachelor in Science Degree (B.Sc) in Biotechnology Honors deals with the detailed study of the cells and various other living components to get the basic requirements. It consists of detail studies of these living components which can be further used for different experiments to deal with various diseases and natural hazards. It not only deals with humans, but with every other life form.
Anyone who has completed his or her 10+2 with Science is eligible for applying for B.Sc in Biotechnology (honors).
Job and Career prospects
Biotechnology is generally a research oriented field and excellent opportunities exists in research laboratories run by the government as well as the corporate sector. As far as employment is concerned it is one the fastest growing sectors. Careers are available for biotechnologists with pharmaceutical companies, chemical, agriculture and allied industries. Other areas of work include planning, production and management of bio-processing industries.
Course Outlook
It is a 3 year course in the Field offered by most of the Science universities in India. Though it is not as popular as its Engineering counterpart, but it promises a great future.
