Campus placement preparation tips for Sony India

Sony India is a 100% subsidiary of the luminous brand called Sony. Sony conducts recruitment through campus placement in all leading institutions in the country. It has tie ups with leading educational institutions for placement drives. Sony India recruits Engineering graduates and post graduates in science subjects for technical positions. Management graduates are also recruited for middle level management roles in business consulting and business development. Placement procedure of this firm includes aptitude test, technical interview and HR round.

Eligibility Criteria

At least 50% marks in their matriculation as well as in higher secondary examination is a must. Graduates or post graduates with minimum 60% marks are eligible to apply for the placement procedure. They are not supposed to have any back papers at the time of application. Candidates who have completed their studies in regular/ full time programme are only eligible to apply.

Selection Procedure

Candidates will be selected on the basis of composite score obtained in the screening test and interview. The written test is conducted in online mode, and it comprises of three parts such as aptitude, verbal and technical. It measures candidates’ problem solving skills & ability with time constraint. There will be two rounds of interview that is technical round and HR interview.

Exam Pattern

The aptitude session consists of 15 questions which have to be attempted within 20 minutes. Questions will be asked from data interpretation and simplification.  Verbal section includes 15 questions. The maximum time allotted for this section is 10 minutes. There will be questions related to Reading comprehension and the Basic English grammar. Technical section includes 20 questions. Candidates can expect questions from topics such as Programming, C++ with networking, data structure or C++ with Operating System. Maximum time allotted for this section is 30 minutes. Candidates can obtain the previous placement test papers from the internet and have a thorough preparation so as to secure good score.

Candidates who have successfully cleared the written test will have to undergo two rounds of interview. In technical interview, candidates can expect questions from their academics such as basic dbms commands, c++ etc,. HR interview is meant to measure your interpersonal skill and decision making skill and leader ship ability as well. Candidates are advised to have a good knowledge about of the basics studied in the qualifying degree so that they can face interviews with a good level of confidence. The candidates should prepare their resume in the best form available as it plays a significant role in the selection process.
