Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) is amongst the best research organizations of India. It conducts and organizes an entrance exam to its best known PhD program for all those students who are interested in doing the same from this elite institute. CCMB is considered one, among many, of the constituents’ laboratories of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) which is a premier R&D organization of the Indian Government. CCMB started its journey in year 1977 and in the year 1981 it became a developed and full-grown national laboratory of India, also well known outside the country. They help a lot in the development of the society. This is also amongst the top national laboratories of India well recognized for its Excellency in the research department. This national laboratory offers various opportunities each and every year to join this famous research laboratory.
Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology has got recognition as a center of Excellence from UNESCO for its contribution to research in modern biology. It also has much other international recognition to its credit. CCMB provides research programs in various fields. For selection to the PhD. program candidates have to undergo a written test followed by an interview. Interview is conducted only for the students who qualify in the written test.

Eligibility criteria:
Candidates with MSc/BE/B.Tech/B.Pharm/MBBS and qualification in CSIR-UGC (NET)/ICMR-JRF/DBT-JRF or/and other such qualification as specified in the admission notification can apply. Also a candidate should not be more than 28 years.
Important dates:
Last date of submission of Forms: last week of April, 2011
Entrance Test & Interviews: third and fourth week of June, 2011
How to Apply:
Candidates have to send their filled application in an A4 size paper printed in the specified format according to the notification and send it along with the attested documents and a signed passport sized photograph to CCMB.
Selection Procedure:
Candidates are first required to give a written test. Those who qualify in the written test are required to give an interview within the next two days of the written test after which the final selections are made.

I have completed my post graduation from CALCUTTA UNIVERSITY in BOTANY. I have qualified JUNE 2010 CSIR /UGC NET exam in LECTURERSHIP category. . So, my question is should i eligible to sit in CCMB Phd exam?
