Cochin University of Science and Technology is one of the famous universities in Kerala offering various courses. Cochin University of Science and Technology Lateral Entry Test (CUSAT LET) is a common entrance test conducted by CUSAT for the selection of eligible candidates for the second year B.Tech course. The duration of the B.Tech course is four years. This entrance exam provides the opportunity for large number of candidates for pursuing an engineering degree. Structure of Cochin University of Science and Technology Lateral Entry Test (CUSAT LET)

The selection of the candidates will be on the basis of an entrance test conducted by CUSAT.  The pattern of the test is on objective type format. The test consists of 100 multiple choice questions and the marks given for the test will be a maximum of 100 marks. The time allotted for the test will be of three hours. Four options are given for each multiple choice questions and one of them will be the appropriate answer. The candidates have to select the most suitable answer and one mark is given for the correct answer. The test is to evaluate the candidates’ skill in English, Mathematics and Engineering Mechanics etc.

Syllabus for Cochin University of Science and Technology Lateral Entry Test (CUSAT LET)

The syllabus for the entrance exam is described below. The test consists of questions from four different sections.

Section 1: English (20 Questions) (20 Marks)

Section 2: Mathematics (50 Questions) (50 Marks)

Section 3: Engineering Mechanics (40 Questions) (40 Marks)

Section 4: Engineering Graphics (40 Questions) (40 Marks)

Section 5: General Engineering (50 Questions) (50 Marks)

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates have to fulfill certain basic qualifications for getting admission for the second year B Tech course through the lateral entry method. The candidates have to pass their three diploma course in the specialized subject with 60% marks from any institute recognized by the Boards of Technical Education of the State for applying for the CUSAT LET test.  The maximum age limit of the candidate for applying for the test is 25 years.

How to Apply?

The application form for the CUSAT LET exam will be published in the official website www.cusat.nic.in. The candidates have the facility for submitting the online application form. The interested candidates have to submit the application form through the website. The exam fee is Rs.850/- for the general category candidates and SC/ST candidates have to pay Rs.375/-. After the payment of the fees, the candidates have to fill the form and submit it. After the registration, the candidates have to take a print out copy of the form. This print out copy and required documents and fee payment slip should be send before the last date.

How to fill the Form?

The form should be filled correctly by following all the instructions in the exam notification. There are three pages which are displayed i.e. confirmation page, fee payment challan and check list. The fee should be paid in any bank using the fee payment challan. After the fee payment the candidate have to complete their registration process. The candidates have to take the print out copy of the application form. A recent photograph of the candidate must be affixed in the application form. Candidates’ signature, thumb impression, registration number, journal number from the bank should be filled in the application form. The filled form and the fee payment receipt and required documents must be send to the concerned office before the last date.
