Film and Television Institute of India offers Post Graduate Diploma as well as Post Graduate Certificate Courses. Post Graduate Diploma courses are offered in areas of Direction, Cinematography, Sound Recording, Editing, Acting, etc. Electronic Cinematography, Direction, Feature Film Screenplay Writing, Video Editing etc are some of the areas where Post Graduate Certificate Courses are offered. Bachelor’s degree is the basic qualification required to pursue most of the courses. Admission is offered on the basis of the score in entrance exam carried out by the institute.

Admission Process in FTII

Those who seek admission in FTII should satisfy certain eligibility conditions. Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply. Bachelor’s degree with Physics as a subject at HSC level is the necessary eligibility for the following programs.

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Sound Recording and Sound Design
  • Post Graduate Certificate Course in Sound Recording and TV Engineering

Graduates in any of the following streams (or related streams) can apply for Post Graduate Diploma in Art Direction and Production Design.

  • Painting
  • Architecture
  • Sculpture
  • Interior Design
  • Applied Arts

All other courses require graduation as the basic qualification. Admission to all courses mentioned above is offered through entrance test. Institute itself carry out entrance test in cities across India. Those who score good marks in the written exam have to attend a personal interview as well.

In order to attend the entrance test, candidate should send an application request. Applications forms can be collected by sending a fee amount of Rs.2150/- (for general category candidates) and reserved category candidates should pay Rs. 650/- as application fee. Fee must be paid in the form of DD taken from any of the nationalized banks of the country. It must be taken in the name of Accounts Officer, Film and Television Institute of India and must be payable at Pune.
