Admission Process for UG courses at Sona College of Technology

Those having studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in HSC can apply for B.E courses. Such candidates should have studied any of the following as optional subjects.

• Chemistry
• Biotechnology
• Biology

General category candidates need to hold a minimum of 45% marks in HSC where as reserved category students must have at least 40% marks.

Admission to first year of B.E course is done on the basis of marks obtained in the higher secondary examination and TNEA. Candidates need to secure more than 100 marks in mathematics and in physics and mathematics (together).

Diploma holders in engineering or technology and B.Sc holders who have studied mathematics as a subject either at HSC/degree can seek admission to B.E through lateral entry (direct admission to 2nd year). The required qualification must be obtained with at least 45% marks. Admissions are done on the priority basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Admission Process for PG courses at Sona College of Technology

Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 50% marks is the qualification required for M.E courses. Admission to this course is done on the basis of entrance exams like TANCET, CET, and GATE.

Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks is the essential qualification for MBA. For admission to MCA, aspirants should have an additional qualification. They should have studied the subject of mathematics either at HSC or graduation.

Admission to MBA is made on the basis of entrance exams such as MAT / TANCET / CET and that for MCA on the basis of TANCET / CET.
