Admission is offered either on the basis of the marks scored in the qualifying examination or the score in the written test.

Postgraduate Diploma in Museology/Museology and Conservation/ Museology and History of Indian Arts - Candidates who have graduated from any recognized educational institution can seek admission to Post Graduate diploma in Museology. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya offers Postgraduate Diploma in Museology and Conservation as a one-year course. Osmania University, Solapur University, Vikram University, etc offers Postgraduate Diploma in Museology and History of Indian Arts. Admission to these courses is offered on the basis of merit and applications for the same can be moved through the official web portal of the concerned University. Application can be submitted by post as well.

Doctor of Philosophy in Museology - National Institute of History of Art Conservation and Museology, Calcutta University, etc offers admission to Ph.D program in Museology through written test. Master’s degree in Museology or other related subjects is the essential qualification for pursuing doctoral degree in Museology.
