Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Central Marketing Organisation has invited applications for the profile of Junior Assistant (Trainee). Candidates with Graduation, Diploma in Computer Application and with a minimum typing speed are considered for recruitment. Selection is done on the basis of a national level written exam conducted by SAIL followed by Computer Typing/skill test and interview.

Eligibility Criteria for Junior Assistant (Trainee) in SAIL

Educational Qualification

Candidates should possess a graduation (full time degree) in any discipline from a recognized University. Degree qualification must be obtained with a minimum of 55% marks (SC/ST/PWD candidates require 45% marks). Such candidates must hold one year diploma in Computer Applications and must have proficiency in MS Office. PC typing speed at the rate of a 40 words per minute and 30 words per minute is preferred for (in English) for general and reserved category candidates respectively.

Age Limitations

Candidates must be Indian Nationals. Age should not be less than 18 years but not exceeding 28 years as on 1st May 2013. 28 years of upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST category, 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer), 10 years for PWD, and 5 years for Jammu & Kashmir domiciles. Age limitations will be determined on the basis of date of birth recorded in Matriculation/ Higher Secondary certificate.

Selection Process for ‘Junior Assistant (Trainee)’ Recruitment in SAIL

Selection procedure includes written test on English, general awareness, quantitative aptitude and reasoning (multiple choice questions). Short listed candidates (on the basis of written test) need to appear in computer skill test based on MS Office, Typing test ( PC typing speed of minimum 40 words per minute for general category and 30 words per minute for reserved category in English) and Interview. Final selection is subjected to those candidates who are found medically fit by the medial board appointed by the company. Decision of the medical board will be final.

Application Process for ‘Junior Assistant (Trainee)’ Recruitment in SAIL

Eligible candidates are requested to apply online through the SAIL’s official website. Applications in any other means will not be accepted. Correspondence with the candidates is done through e-mail only. Pay in Slip can be downloaded from the website. Application fee for General/ OBC candidates is Rs. 250/- and that for PWD/SC/ST candidates Rs. 70/- (bank charges included). Candidates should upload a scanned image of latest passport size photograph and signature along with application form. After online application a registration Slip generated from system with essential details and unique registration number is required to download by the candidates. A photocopy of each candidate’s Registration Slip and Pay in Slip should be produced for reference. Any form of canvassing will be a disqualification.
