The Master of Mathematics Education is a Meta University course conducted by Jamia Milia Islamia (JMI) in collaboration with the University of Delhi. Intake capacity of the course is 20. Ten seats are available at University of Delhi and the rest at JMI. Degree holders having studied at least two full-fledged papers in mathematics are eligible to apply to this course. The admission process is done on the basis of a written test and interview. Questions for the written test will be based on topics like English language, Mathematical skills, and Reasoning.

Semester III

  • Discretizing and understanding Real Life Situations through a Mathematical Lens

Semester IV

  • Modeling continuous change through ordinary differential equations and complex analysis
  • JMI Course selected from AJK Mass Communication Research Centre

Eligibility Criteria for Master of Mathematics Education at JMI

Graduation in any subject from any of the recognized University is the minimum qualification required. Such candidates should have studied at least two full-fledged papers in mathematics at under graduate level.

Admission Procedure for Master of Mathematics Education at JMI

The admission process of eligible candidates is done on the basis of a written test and interview. During admission process, seventy five percent weightage is given for marks obtained in written test and 25% for interview. Those who qualify written test are short listed for interview. The written test comprises of 75 objective model questions. Duration of the test is one hour. Each question carries one mark. Questions for the test are asked from the following subjects.

  • English language
  • General awareness
  • Mathematical skills
  • Mental ability
  • Reasoning

Application form for admission can be downloaded either from the website of JMI or Delhi University. Filled in application form must be submitted along with the application fee of Rs.500/-. The application fee for SC/ST candidates is Rs.250/-. Application fee must be remitted in the form of DD taken in favor of the Registrar, University of Delhi. It must be payable at New Delhi.
