Border Security Force has invited the applications for the post of Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer) and Head Constable. Higher Secondary education is the minimum educational qualification. Candidates who fall in the age group of 18-25 years are eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criterion:

Higher Secondary education in any stream from a recognized board of education is the minimum educational qualification. Apart from this, candidates who have completed matriculation along with any of the following courses are also eligible to apply.

• 3 Years Full Time Diploma in Secretarial Practice
• 3 Years Full Time Diploma in Modern Office Practice
• 3 Years Full Time Diploma in Commercial Practice

Those who have completed diploma programs from a recognized board of Technical education are only eligible to apply. In addition to this candidates are required to have knowledge of short hand or type writing. Those who are applying for the post of Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer) are required to have a minimum typing speed of 70 words per minute in English or in Hindi. Required typing speed for candidates who apply for the post of Head Constable (Ministerial) is 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi.

Physical Standards

Male candidates are required to have minimum height of 165 centimeters and that for female candidates is 157 centimeters. In addition to this, they should have body weight corresponding to height. Male candidates will have to expand their chest up to 77 centimeters. Those who are belonging to certain communities such as Adivasis, Nagas as well as Mizos are eligible to have relaxation in Physical Standards. Candidates are required to have visual standards as per the notification issued by the selection commission. They are required to be medically fit. Those who are having color blindness, flat foot and knock knee are not eligible to apply.

Selection Procedure

Recruitment to the various posts in Border Security Force will be on the basis of the performance in

• Written Test
• Physical Measurement Test (PST)
• Short Hand Test / Typing test
• Document Verification
• Medical Examination

Final selection will be based on the composite scores obtained by the candidates in overall tests.
