Both Thermal Engineering and Water Resource Engineering are the sub disciplines in engineering. Even though both the fields lie in the same area, they differ in many aspects. Thermal engineering is the engineering field which involves the analysis, development and testing of thermal control systems and the related areas. Water resource engineering is also the engineering that deals with management of water resources.

Thermal Engineering Course and Career opportunities

Thermal engineering is that subdivision of engineering field that involves with the analysis, improvement and testing the thermal control systems and its concerned areas. The thermal engineers are experts to carry out these tasks. The projects performed by them will range from product examination and to the detailed component evaluations. They create the detailed thermal designs, create hardware selection and explain and contribute in thermal testing. Based on the analysis and tests, they make reports as needed for the particular project. As said earlier, the thermal engineers design the spacecrafts and it includes various types including low earth orbit missions, extra terrestrial planetary landers, GEO stationary spacecrafts, etc.

These experts directly involve in the projects of thermal architects and other responsible engineers. The projects may be for commercial or institutional or R&D funded. To become a Thermal Engineer, one must have at least a bachelor’s degree qualification. Most of the thermal engineers are qualified in mechanical or chemical engineering graduation. Some of the universities may also offer the thermal engineering discipline at the undergraduate level. After pursuing the specified degree, thermal engineers can get into a bright career in various related industries or business units.

Water Resource Engineering Course and Career opportunities

The Water Resource Engineering is also a sub-branch in the engineering field that is related with the compilation and management of water resources. It is considered as an area in the civil engineering which is concerned with prediction and management of mainly quality and quantity of underground water. This particular field of engineering involves primarily the tasks of supplying water for use of humans and improving techniques to prevent damage due to excess water.

Experts who perform a wide variety of tasks in this area are called the Water Resource engineers. They analyze and model the areas of earth to forecast the content and amount of water. Most of these professionals work in the planning and management of constructed water facilities. Candidates specialized in water resource engineering are usually employed in engineering consulting companies and in government departments with the responsibility of supplying water and dealing with the related hazards. Many of the water resource engineers are the civil engineering graduates specialized in control and repair of water providing systems.

Key differentiators between Thermal Engineering and Water Resource Engineering

  • Thermal engineering is the branch of engineering that involves the analysis, development and testing of thermal control systems and concerned areas whereas Water Resource Engineering is the sub area in the civil engineering that involves the compilation and management of water.

Although Thermal Engineering and Water Resource Engineering are the fields involved in same area, engineering, there are lots of dissimilarities between the two.
