Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute is amongst the premier institutes of India and was started in the year 2003 and earned a Deemed University status as per Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India Notification No.F.9-1/2002-U.3 dated 21.01.2003 and University Grants Commission (UGC) Notification F.6.6/2002 (CPP-I) dated 13.03.03 to provide Higher Education in Engineering, Technology, Medicine and Dentistry, Humanities and Sciences to fulfill the need of the society.
