Eligibility and Selection Process for GAIL ‘Executive Trainee’ Recruitment

GAIL often recruits B.Tech/B.E and MBA graduates to the post of ‘Executive Trainee’. A minimum of 65% marks in the qualifying examination is mandatory to attend the selection process. Recruitment is done on the basis of written exam, group discussion and personal interview.

Eligibility for GAIL ‘Executive Trainee’ Recruitment

Engineering graduates with minimum 65% marks are eligible to apply for the post ‘Executive Trainee’ in technical streams.  B.E/B.Tech degree must be obtained from a recognized institute in the concerned stream.

For Executive Trainee (Mechanical), engineering degree must be obtained in any of the following streams.

  • Automobile Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Production &Industrial Engineering
  • Production Engineering

For Executive Trainee (Electrical), engineering degree must be obtained in any of the following streams.

  • Electrical
  • Electrical & Electronics

For Executive Trainee (Instrumentation), engineering degree must be obtained in any of the following streams.

  • Electrical & Electronics
  • Electrical & Instrumentation
  • Electronics
  • Electronics & Instrumentation
  • Instrumentation
  • Instrumentation & Control

For Executive Trainee (Chemical), engineering degree must be obtained in any of the following streams.

  • Chemical
  • Chemical Technology
  • Petrochemical
  • Petrochemical Technology

For Executive Trainee (Civil), engineering degree must be obtained in any of the following streams.

  • Civil Engineering

For Executive Trainee (Telemetry), engineering degree must be obtained in any of the following streams.

  • Electrical & Electronics
  • Electrical & Telecommunication
  • Electronics
  • Electronics & Communication
  • Electronics & Telecommunication
  • Telecommunication

For Executive Trainee (Human Resources), candidate must possess any of the following set of qualifications.

  • Bachelor Degree with minimum 60% Marks
  • MBA / MSW with minimum 65 % Marks

Or

  • Bachelor Degree with minimum 60% Marks
  • PG Diploma in Personnel Management / Personnel Management & Industrial Relations
  • MBA / MSW must be obtained in areas of Personnel Management & Industrial Relations or Human Resources Management

Selection Process for GAIL ‘Executive Trainee’ Recruitment

‘Executive Trainee’ Recruitment in GAIL is carried out in three stages, written exam, Group Discussion and personal interview. Written exam will be of objective type, covering 150 questions. Duration of the test will be 2 hours. There will be two sections in the question paper.

  • Knowledge of the Subject
  • General Aptitude Test

100 questions will be asked from subject related topics and the rest from aptitude section. General Aptitude Test will be common for all streams. Negative marking is there for the test.

Candidates, who have qualified the written test, will be short listed for GD. Successful candidates in GD section will be informed on the date for personal interview. Those who can get through this final round will be recruited as ‘Executive Trainee’ in GAIL.
