With the increasing number of students turning towards engineering courses these days in the state of Nagaland, the number of colleges offering engineering in the state of Nagaland is also increasing and there is a heavy competition among the students of Nagaland to seek admission to the engineering courses.

Admissions to engineering courses in the state of Nagaland:

Admission of students to the professional courses including technical courses like engineering, medical courses like MBBA and allied course are done based on the merit secured by the students in the Nagaland Joint Entrance Examination shortly called as JEE and for taking up this examination, candidates should fulfill the following educational conditions:

Eligibility for applying to the JEE examination conducted for engineering admission:

A candidate will be eligible to apply for the entrance examination provided:

• He/she is a member of any indigenous Schedule Tribe of Nagaland

• He/she in an indigenous non-local resident (Gurkha/Nepali settles in erstwhile Naga Hills District before 31st of December 1940

• His/her mother or father is an employee of the state government of Nagaland or a member of All India Services of Nagaland Cadre

• His/her mother or father is an employee of central government working in Nagaland for more than three calendar years

• He/she is a resident of the state and whose either of the parents is enrolled in the electoral roll of the state government five years preceeding the year of application

There are also other requirements with respect to educational qualification and age to be fulfilled by the candidates.
