BAIET is a national level entrance exam conducted by Dr. D. Y. Patil University for the selection of eligible candidates to the B.Ed course. Mental Ability, Teacher Attitude, Teacher Aptitude, and General Knowledge are the sections included in this test. Graduates with 50% marks can apply for the test by collecting application form either from University website or from University Office.

Exam Pattern of BAIET

BAIET is carried out as a single paper test having time duration of one hour. There will be 50 objective type questions for the test. Each question carries one mark. There will be no negative marking. Mode of the test is bilingual (English and Marathi). The test will have following sections.

• Mental Ability
• Teacher Attitude
• Teacher Aptitude
• General Knowledge

Mental Ability section covers questions to assess the reasoning ability of the candidate. In this section, one can expect questions on series, syllogisms, seating arrangement, coding-decoding, analogies, etc. During admission process, 20% weightage will be given for marks scored in this section.

Questions on Teacher Attitude are meant to evaluate candidate’s attitude towards teaching profession, society, professional ethics, etc. The section also covers questions which assess candidate’s attitude towards teachers, parents, students, etc. 30% weightage of marks is given for this section.

In Teacher Aptitude section, one can expect knowledge based questions. Candidate’s interest in updating knowledge, leadership skills, general awareness (with special reference towards education and society), professional commitment, etc are evaluated through the section. Score obtained in the section will also be given 30% weightage during admission.

Candidate’s knowledge on national and international affairs is evaluated via General Knowledge section. Developments in science and technology, recent developments in education sector, events of national importance, etc form the syllabus for GK section.

Application Process for BAIET

Application form can be collected from the official portal of Dr. D. Y. Patil University or from the University Office. Application processing charges amounts to Rs. 500/- . Fee must be paid in the form of Demand Draft drawn from a nationalized bank taken in favor of ‘Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil University’. DD must be payable at Navi Mumbai.

Filled up application form must be submitted to the address of the University by affixing a recent passport size photograph. Demand draft and other supporting documents must be sent along with the application form. Before sending application, candidate should ensure that they have written the name, address and application number on the back side of the demand draft.
