Sir/Mam, Is 12th standard arts students eligible for GNM nursing under SSU? Can you please let me know the minimum criteria which are followed for the same? It will be really helpful if you can answer me back soon on the same. Thanks!

No, you cannot study GNM under SSUHS after completing 12th class education in arts. The full details about eligibility requirements are mentioned below.

Eligibility criteria:
- The candidate should have completed their 10+2 in science stream from any recognised board.
- The minimum percentage required is 45%.
- There is 5% relaxation for SC/ ST, PhD candidates.
- The minimum age it is 17 years and the maximum age limit is 24 years.
- There is age relaxation for reserved candidates based on the government rules.

You cannot GNM under SSUHS but you can GNM under any university because according to Indian nursing council any candidate who have completed 10+2 in any stream from any recognised board are eligible to study GNM course. So, if you really wanted to study GNM course you can choose another university which allows the candidates from any stream. Choose that university and study GNM course.

No, for the candidate who belongs to ARTS and Commerce group you are not eligible for the GNM Nursing course, but you are eligible for ANM Nursing course.
The eligibility for ANM are as Follows :
1. The candidate must have completed the 10+2 in any stream.

GNM stands for General Nursing and Midwifery and it is a 3 years long diploma program. Academic program is 3 years long and 6 months are dedicated towards internship. Yes definitely one who has passed 12th standard with Arts stream is eligible to pursue this course but preference is given to the students who have done their 12th with medical stream are given preference to this course but yes those students who have passed there to standard with Arts stream with a good percentage are also eligible.
