This is option is not open to girls. They are not allowed to take the NDA test. But you do have another option to enter the army. Since you are a graduate you can apply through the OTA. For that you need to clear the Short Service Commission exam. Earlier this option was restricted to men.This is the only option by women can enter the army. CDSE conducts this exam. You can appear for it after you turn 21 years. In the mean time you should start preparing for the same. You can collect all the information regarding the same from the official website. As to appear in the NDA exam a candidate needs to be within 19 years of age and only male candidates are eligible to apply. But as you mentioned that you are from Arts stream, you are eligible to join the Indian Army through the Women’s Special Entry. As to appear in the Women’s special recruitment drive, a candidate needs to have a graduation with first class. There are also few other schemes for women candidate for entering in to the army. Combined Defence service exam, which was previously meant for male candidates, is now available for women candidates too. The female candidates will be given SSC and provide training at the OTA. The University entry scheme is also available for female candidates after attaining graduation. The UPSC is the sole authority which carries out these exams. The candidates will get the entire information from the official website. Sorry to inform you but the girls are not allowed to apply for the NDA exam.
Only unmarried male candidates are allowed for the exam.
Age limitation is between 16.5 to 19 years.
Moreover, 10+2 pass students with Physics , Chemistry , Maths ( minimum -60%) are only eligible

Yes girls can join indian army as boys join it.eligibility for this is you must be graduate with minimum percentage of 55%.and age can be between 21 to 29.

Its good that you are really Interested in going for Indian Army .I would like to suggest you that after graduation there are entries like UES entry,TGC , so you can choose these entries to get enter into Indian Army.The forms you need tpo check on official website of Indian Army .Form comes twice a year.I would tell you the details as far as I know. Generally women are not allowed in IMA to join as officer cadre. They are allowed for selection only in OTA ( officers training academy ) in non-technical course. Even though the height is not considered for you to apply, the age limit is a big problem for you now. Just refer the notification of combined defense services in the upsc website. I think this time, you would not eligible to apply in grounds of age limit. You have missed out a chance of applying last year.

As you know that girl are not allowed in National defence Academy exam. If a girl want to join Indian Army then she can apply after the graduation through Combine Defence Services Exam(C.D.S.E)

C.D.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.
After qualifying this exam you can start you career in defence sector like:-
>> Indian Army
>> Indian Air force
>> Indian Navy

Eligibility criteria:-
> Pass graduation with any subject from recognized university
> Age limit:-19-24 year
> Medically fit

There are 3 steps of selection:-
-Written exam.
-Interview

Girl candidates are not eligible for Indian Army Academy .. So, I suggest you to apply for CDS Entrance Examination in Officer training academy ..

So, Being girl candidate your eligible for Officer training academy ..

Officer Training Academy is Under Combined defence Service and the CDS Examination which is Conducted by Union Public Service Commission . This CDS Examination is Held every twice in a year .

To appear in this Entrance Examination then you have to satisfy the eligibility Criteria, ie:- Educational Qualification / Age Criteria and Physical Standards Etc...

Eligibility Criteria Required for Officer Training Academy :-

The Aspirant should hold Graduation in any discipline from recognized University . The candidate who are waiting for the result for Bachelor degree may also eligible to apply for this Examination .

Minimum Percentage of marks is not issue for this Examination . If you get Pass Marks in Bachelor degree Course than your eligible to apply for OTA Examination .

The Applicant age should be Not less than 19 years and Not More than 25 years . No Upper age relaxation for this Examination .

Yes girls can also join the Indian army why not if boys can join the Indian army than why not girls.But Girls can join the Indian army through the combine defence services exam as for this exam the girl candidates are fully allowed so you can write this exam.

In the cds exam their is a department where girls are allowed the officer's training academy where both candidate the girls as well as boys are allowed.So through this department you can get a chance to join the Army.

In the cds exam their is 2 stages but the most important stage is the second one rather than the first.The First stage is that they will take a written test of objective type and if you are able to clear it than they will call you for the ssb of 5 days and this will be your litmus test where your all skills will be checked from mental ability to the reasoning ability as well as your general intelligence will be checked.So work hard if you want to get success.

For the exam the qualification required is first you should be pass in the graduation degree from a recognized university from the ugc.Final year persons means the students who are studying in the final year of the graduation can also write the exam.

Than the second qualification is your which should be between 19 to 25 years for the cds exam.

Also for cds exam their is no limitation on the number of attempts means you can write the exam as many times you want to write the exam their is no restriction on you.
