Hi, myself Akash I am studying in 12th. I want to become IPS officer. I want to build my life in IPS, so that I can help the public. My aim is to the public. So, please which book I should refer. If you would like to help me means Please help me.

Best Books to refer for Indian Police Officer Examination:

There are several books that are to be followed. As you are presently pursuing 12th Class, I suggest you to concentrate well on 12th Class studies and then on Graduation too. You can slowly start preparing well for IPS Examination once you are good with Graduation studies.

If you want to be a IPS officer you have to clear Civil Services Exam which is organised by UPSC each year. You have to follow a strict guideline to crack this exam. Firstly don't become a collector of books instead choose the right one and read throughly.

UPSC Checks the Thinking and creativity ability of its aspirants so to build up them you have to focus on that. Here is a list of compact Book List to start your prep.

NCERT Books from Class 6th to 12th will form a base for your prep.

Other list are as Follows

Geography
6 to 10th standard NCERT books old syllabus. 11th and 12th standard book new syllabus.

History
Modern Indian History by Bipin Chandra, Ancient History (11th class) by RS Sharma, Mediaval Indian History by Satish Chandra.

Economics
Indian Economic Development 11th class.

Polity
9th to 12th standard book, Constitution of India by PM Bakshi.

International Relations
12th Class NCERT books, Contemporary World Politics, World Politics by Orient Blackswann.

Art and Culture
Indian art and Culture by Nitin Singhania
