Hi friend, To get admitted to Bioinformatics courses in Maharashtra you have to appear at Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. You have to apply for the test after passing 12th with Physics,Chemistry and biology as main subjects. You can do B.sc or B.Tech in bioinformatics. By cracking this test you can join the institutes offering bioinformatics. This course has got good career prospects. The opportunities in bioinformatics jobs are excellent and the successful students get placed in the famous Biotech and Pharmaceutical companies in India. In Maharashtra,top institutes offering the course are: Pune University, Bio Engineering Research Center, Navi Mumbai Dr. D.Y Patil institute of biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Pune. All the best! |

In Maharashtra there are top ranked institutes: Bioinformatics Centre - Pune, Maharashtra Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University - Nashik, Maharashtra Pune University - Pune, Maharashtra Bio Engineering Research Centre (BERC) - Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra For admission to these institutes you need to crack the AIET entrance. Re: Admission process for bioinformatics in maharashtra? based any entrance exam or 12th board exam marks? dear, your sister has made a brave decision by choosing bio informatics as her career..... pune university offers courses in bio informatics.... by the institute named......institute of bio informatics and biotechnology (IBB)............ A national level entrance examination is conducted by IBB every year and the admissions are done entirely on the basis of merit list of this entrance examination. Only the candidates belonging to reserved category and having domicile in Maharashtra are considered for admissions in the reserved quota. Reserved category candidates with domicile in other states of India are treated as open category candidates. There are two papers in the entrance examination, both with multiple choice questions (MCQs). There are 50 questions in Paper I on general knowledge, quantitative aptitude and intelligence (Duration 1Hr.). In Paper II, there are 100 questions that are based on the syllabus of 10+2 course of Maharashtra Board in Biology (weightage 40%), Physics (25%), Chemistry (25%) and Maths (10%).
