Re: Which Optional subject should I choose for Civil Services exam?

I would like to advice you to take Sociology as your optional subject because it's very easy to score marks in this subject. Most of today's exam takes use this subject as a master stroke and they have been proved right.

NCERT's book on Sociology is the best, the below link will help you out.

Re: Which Optional subject should I choose for Civil Services exam?

Since you have already chosen your Optional paper 1

and have narrowed down to three subject's 1.history,2.political science,3.geography. for

preparation of ias exam, let me tell you all of these are the topmost scoring

subjects in CSE so choosing them is a very wise idea assuming that you have a flair for

them and have interest as well,Now i would say explore the syllabus

of all these subjects and see which one has what content... then ask

yourself which subject you like most.

Success will depend a lot upon you interest in the subject as it will

determine how much you grasp and how easy you are while preparing.

They offer similar challenges so just go for the one you like most.
