Dear friend,

IPS exam is conducted by UPSC. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.

Those candidate have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized university are eligible for IPS exam.

But your age should be in between 21-30years for general candidate.
In IPS exam their is provide age relaxation for OBC candidate is 3years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years.

The maximum attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

Also you must be citizen of India.

Indian Police Service,



this exam is conducted by UPSC (UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION).
For appear in this examination you must possess the bachelor degree in any stream from a recognized college.
the age limit for his examination is 21-30 for a general candidates.
there are 5 year relaxation for SCST candidates
also 3 year relaxations for OBC(non-creamy layer).

this examination have three exams stages.....
1.CSAT
2.MAINS
3.INTERVIEW


NO. OF ATTEMPTS-

4 for general candidates

7 for OBC candidates

no such restrictions for SC\ST candidates...

It is very nice to see that you want to become an IPS officer and want to serve the nation.

The IPS examination is conducted by the UPSC.The eligibility criteria to appear for the IPS examination is as follows:-

Eligibility Criteria for IPS:-

Educational Qualification:-The candidate should be a graduate from a recognized university in any stream.

Age Limit:-The age of the candidate should be between 21-30 years.Age relaxation of 5 years and 3 years are given to the SC/ST and OBC candidates respectively.

The notification regarding the examination is published in the weekly journal employment news and all the leading dailies.

Age requirements for IPS and eligibility

you can get into IPS by giving the Civil Service Exams..they are held once in a year..
there are 2 stages..
1)Prelims :- The prelims include aptitude test,General Knowledge and current affairs..there are 2 papers in this round..

2)Mains:- Those who qualify for the mains on the basis of Prelims go for the Mains..The mains are based on your graduation subjects and tests your knowledge of your topics..


Eligibility :-

According to the UPSC guidelines the candidates appearing for the Civil Service Exams should satisfy these 2 minimum criteria :-

1) The candidate must be a graduate from a recognized college in India with 50% aggregate marks in graduation..

2)The candidate must be within the age limit of 21-30 years for general category..less than 33 for OBC and less than 35 for SC/ST..

dear friend ,

to appear in the ips exams you must have to be graduate candidate from any recognized indian university.

and the age limit for the candidates of the general and obc category is 21 to 30 years.
while there is relaxation of the 3 years for the candidates belongs to sc/st category.

also ,
general and obc category candidates are allowed 4 and 7 attempts for this exam respectively.

ips exam is consist of three main parts
1) preliminary exam
2) main exam
3) interview

the all india rank for the different services is get calculated from above three exams.

IPS exams are conducted by UPSC civil service examination .The IPS exam is conducted in two parts primary and mail exam .

Eligibility criteria for IPS exam-

1.Graduation from any recognized university.
2.age limit = 21 to 30 years for general.
sc/st category has 5 years relaxation.
obc category has 3 years relaxation.


3.General category students can apply for IPS max.4 times in the life time .
sc/st/obc categories can apply for max. 7 times in lifetime.
