Age eligibility for NET exam:-

*For Junior Research Fellowship:-

The candidates age should not be more than 28 years..
For SC/ST and OBC the age upper age relaxation is 5 years.

*For Lectureship:-

There is no upper age limit for lectureship..

So, if you fulfill the age criteria then you can appear in NET exam.

NET Stands for National Eligiblity Test and this examination was Conducted By UGC Twice in a year, The examination was held in June and December every year. This examination was held for determining the eligibility for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and Lectureship.

>> To apply for this examination you need to complete your Post graduation degree course in any discipline form a recognised university, Final year Post graduate candidates are also apply for the NET Examination, If you have scored minimum 55% marks in your Post graduation then you are eligible for NET Examination.

>> The Notification of NET Examination was Declared in the official website Two Time, The June examination was already completed and If you are Interested in NET Then please apply for this examination after the Notification and the Notification was going to be declared soon in the Month of September, Eligible candidates may fill the NET Application form Online and the examination fees of NET was Rs 450 and You have to pay the fees through Challan and then you are eligible to fill the NET Application form Online.

Age Eligiblity -

National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship
AGE LIMIT & RELAXATION :

i) Junior Research Fellowship:
maximum 28 years.
A relaxation upto 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH/VH categories and to women applicants.
Three years’ relaxation in age for candidates possessing L.L.M. Degree.

ii) Lectureship: There is no upper age limit for applying for lectureship eligibility.

dear friend,

After Masters , you are eligible for NET exam but your degree must be from UGC approved university.

Those candidate have completd masters degree from recogniged university are eligible for NET exam.

For general and OBC candidate must be hold 55%above in masters degree. SC/ST candidate must be hold 50% above in masters degree.

Part time course are not eligible for NET exam.

For Junior research fellowship course your age must be in between 19 to 28 years.

For lectureship ,There is no upper age limit but the Minimum age is 19 years.

NET exam is conduct because of govt college lecturer and PHD entrance.

Eligibility Criteria for Appearing in NET

* You must have completed or pursuing a Master’s degree in subjects specified by a UGC. The list of subjects can be had from official website of UGC.
* You must have secured at least 55% in aggregate from a recognized university by UGC. Five percent relaxation is given to SC/ST/OBC/ Physically Handicapped candidates.
* Those who are appearing for the final year examination of Master’s degree or those waiting for their results or whose exams have been delayed due to some reason can also apply for the test. They will get admission provisionally, but it will be mandatory for those candidates to obtain their Master’s degree with minimum marks requirement before they are considered eligible for Junior Research Fellowship or Lectureship. They will have to complete their Masters within one year. In case, the candidate could not get his/her Master degree, s/he will be considered disqualified.
* Those with the Ph.D. degree and who have completed their Master’s level exam within the time specified by UGS can also take NET exam. These candidates are given relaxation of 5%.
* For Junior Research Fellowship your age must not exceed 28 years on the date of admission. Five years relaxation is given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OB/Physically Handicapped category. These candidates will have to show a certificate from suitable authority.
* If your have L.L.M. degree, then you will be eligible for three years relaxation. However, total relaxation in age can never be more than five years under any circumstances.
* There is no limitation for appearing Lectureship except for M.Phil as well as SET candidates.

Examination Pattern of NET

NET comprises three papers.

* First exam aims at assessing the teaching or researching aptitude of the candidates. It is designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension skills and general knowledge of the candidate.
* Second paper will include short questions from the subjects chosen by the candidate himself. There will be 50 multiple choice questions.
* Third paper includes only explanatory questions from the subject of candidate’s choice.

Failing to appear in Paper-I, the candidate will not be considered eligible for appearing in Paper-II and Paper-III, as only those with minimum passed marked are eligible for these papers.
What Next After NET

If pass NET exam, you qualify to pursue research in your subject at Masters Level or some related subject. Even a good number of universities, colleges and institutions always remain in search of JRF awardees to carry on full time research work for them. Your performance in the NET decides your award. You can also take the job of a lecturer. But it must be noted here that the candidates who have qualified specifically for Lectureship, are not considered for award of JRF.
