Re: Is it possible to pursue M.TECH (mechanical) along with work? I am a B.E (Mechanical) Professional, working in a MNC company in Pune in Design Dept.. I am very much interested to go for M.Tech/M.E In Mechanical stream with specialization in Design related Subjects through Distance learning/Correspondence/part time. Pls, suggest some good colleges. |

HI dear, if you are satisfying the eligibility criteria so as to pursue MTech in mechanical , than surely you can go for it i.e. you need to pass B.E./BTech with any one of the following stream with atleast 55% ::: ~Mechanical Engineering in -Industrial -Production -Manufacturing -Welding ~Material Science ~Metallurgy there are mainly three classifications in mechanical as well i.e. you can go for Mechanical Engineering in production or thermal or machine ... As you need to mechanical engineering along with your work so , you must opt for part time M Tech. which is provided by some well renowned and govt. institutions such as punjab technical university and IGNOU ,delhi ... so, if you be able to get above mentioned top colleges than why to go for private one's but there are some good colleges in pune as well such as VIT or MIT pune.. the last date to apply for the course is 24.07.2010 so you have time to apply for this and counselling for it will be held in the month of august .. visit websites : http://www.ptu.ac.in and http://www.ignou.ac.in for more details .. Projects are offered in the areas of design, fabrication and testing of different types of pumps and turbines, computer aided design, flow analysis and performance prediction, experimental studies of flow through pumps and turbines, cavitation, noise and vibration studies. I.C. Engines and Gas Turbines In this specialisation, subjects like engine system and performance, simulation of IC Engine processes and design of combustion engines are offered. A variety of electives like alternate fuels, engine instrumentation and electronic management, engine tribology and laser diagnostics in engines are also available. Students can do project work in the following areas: Development of engine to use alternative fuels like alcohols, hydrogen and bio-gas, exhaust pollution control in spark-ignition and compression ignition engines scavenging and fuel injection in two-stroke engines development of surface-ignition and adiabatic engines, turbulence studies and simulation of four-stroke and two-stroke engines, numerical simulation of engine and gas turbine combustion systems, soot modeling, fluid dynamics of engines and in-cylinder flow analysis spray characteristics. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning In this specialization, core courses like air conditioning and ventilation, refrigeration machinery and components, and sorption refrigeration and heating systems are offered. But for this you have a either B.tech degree Or Master degree of MCA, M.sc etc. But to get admission in M.tech you have to clear the GATE exams, after then you will get admission in M.tech programme. But if you dont clear the GATE exams then dont worry you can also appear in the entrance exams of some university because they will conducts his own entrance exams. After clear this exams you will get admission in these given university. The universities offer Correspondence M.Tech courses are- Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University Indira Gandhi National Open University University of Burdwan, west Bengal. |

There are many institutes offering correspondence course in M.Tech. For admission in these colleges,you need not to qualify GATE. Candidates applying for the Master's course must have passed their graduation with 60% marks from any recognised university. These colleges conduct their own admission entrance tests. Based on the result of the entrance test and merit admission is completed.
