Re: Which subjects can I choose as Optional for IAS Exam having completed CSE?

dear vaishali,
i hope that you will know the examination procedure of i.a.s. exam.i would not focus on the exam procedure because your main question is what subjects can you choose as optional after complete btech in cse?
you can choose two optinal subjects related to your streme.but ias exam wants to jack for all general informations related all sectors.so if your interest in art subjects like history, pol.science, geography etc.so you can choose anyone of them.i want to suggest you to choose one subject of your streme and one non related subject of yor streme.because that gives you to help preparation of general study paper.so you can choose one paper of relted to general study paper.whether you can choose physics and geography.becouse geography has a scientific approach and your streme is also relateted from science.and its also useful for general studies paper of mains.because geograpy gain 20 to 25 marks in pre and 40 to 50 marks in mains exam in the general study paper only.
so wish you all the best.

Re: Which subjects can I choose as Optional for IAS Exam having completed CSE?

hi dear,

select the subject in which you are most attracted and have a 80% interested topics in the syllabus

this is how you have to select the optionals as per my opinion

this should be your target and you have to rock the preparation time interestingly not boringly . To make your future interesting the selection time is very critical

so, if you are interested in any optional select it even if every one says it as the toughest one ..

thanks

Hi
Nice Idea to attempt Civil service exam.
yeah first thing you need to know is selecting optional is how important..

it may become disaster if you fail to select the right optional if you fail to select the right optional subject.

Making mistakes while selecting optional lead to numerous attempts in the history of civil service exam and selection procedure

For optional selection you have to take care of these points.

First of all ,you should give the max importance to your interest because you have to spend a lot of time in studying your selected subjects if you don't have interest in what you have selected then it will become mere waste in ..

you will be suffered with boredom so don't listen anyone's suggestions blindly

go through the syllabus and topics of each and every optional
then only

select the subject in which you are most attracted and have a 80% interested topics in the syllabus

this is how you have to select the optionals as per my opinion

this should be your target and you have to rock the preparation time interestingly not boringly . To make your future interesting the selection time is very critical

so, if you are interested in any optional select it even if every one says it as the toughest one ..there are many successful stories of those who have got good marks in the subjects which are not selected by students at least once.

so all here matters is your interest. Not more or less than that.

this is all the opinion of my friends who are preparing for the same

and one more thing
Take the guidance of successful and unsuccessful candidates
for sure without skipping.. because their experience can teach you too. if you think deeply about the exam.

hope you have a good time in preparation and while writing the examination.

Regards
