Re: What is the course duration of M.Tech? ' Dear friend, After completing your B.Tech you can go for M.Tech. Its indeed a good choice. For M.Tech you have to pass the GATE exam with good marks as to get a good government college. The M.Tech course is generally of 2 years. In first year there are 2 semesters and in second year the other two semesters. In second year you also have to go for your final year project. Also in some cases like-self sponsored or distance mode or in night shifts the duration can be of 3years. So go for it and Best of luck. |

Generally the course duration is 2 years. In some cases like-self sponsored or distance mode or in night shifts the duration becomes 3years. But these are obviously exceptional cases. Re: What is the course duration of M.Tech? ' ELIGIBILITY FOR GATE EXAMINATION The gate exam is held by the IIT. The following categories of candidates are eligible to appear for GATE 2012: Bachelor's degree holders in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final year of such programmes. Bachelor's degree holders in Engineering/Technology/Architecture (Post-B.Sc./Post-Diploma) and those who are in the final year of such programmes. Master's degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/ Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final year of such programmes. Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master's degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology. Candidates in the fourth or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master's degree programme or Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology. Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by Institute of Engineers (India); AMICE by Institute of Civil Engineers (India)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. To take admission in M.tech , you have to first complete your B.tech/BE/M.Sc/MCA/MBA course... After completion of any of these graduation or post graduation course you can go for M.tech course.
