Re: While in pre final year can i apply for CDS exam? What is the age criteria for final year candidates? and what is the time period for submitting the degree certificate?and final year means 6th semester or the whole remaining candidates can apply? |

Re: While in pre final year can i apply for CDS exam? Hello Friend! Yes, a pre-final year student can apply for C.D.S. exam. C.D.S. stands for COMBINED DEFENSE SERVICE. C.D.S. Exam is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) twice in a year as C.D.S.(I) & C.D.S.(II). C.D.S. Exam exam is conducted to recruit candidate in following defense academy as mentioned below. -Indian Military Academy(IMA) -Indian Naval Academy(INA) -Air Force Academy(AFA) -Officer's Training Academy(OTA) Eligibility for C.D.S. Exam:- For IMA:- You must complete Your Graduation degree course in any discipline form a recognized University. Final year candidates of such program are also eligible to appear in this exam. Your Age should be in between 19 to 24 years. You should be Male, unmarried & citizen of India. For INA:- You should have Passed in your Engineering Graduation degree course OR in B.sc Course with Physics and Maths as a compulsory Subjects. Final year candidates of such program are also eligible to appear in this exam. Your Age should be in between 19 to 22 years. You should be Male, unmarried & citizen of India. For AFA:- You should pass in your graduate Degree from recognized university or Bachelor of Engineering with Physics and Mathematics at 12Th examination, Final year graduate candidates are also eligible for CDS Examination. Your Age should be in between 19 to 23 years. You should be Male, unmarried & citizen of India. For OTA:- You must complete Your Graduation degree course in any discipline form a recognized University. Final year candidates of such program are also eligible to appear in this exam. Your Age should be in between 19 to 25 years. You should be Female & citizen of India. |

Eligibility for CDS examination: Educational Qualifications: For IMA /OTA : A degree from a recognized University or equivalent. For Naval Academy: B.Sc. with Physics and/or Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering. For Air Force Academy: B.Sc. of a recognized University or equivalent with Physics and/or Mathematics as subjects or Bachelor of Engineering. Age: For IMA: Unmarried male candidates between 19-24 years For Naval Academy: Unmarried male candidates between 19-22 years For Air Force Academy: Unmarried male candidates between 19-23 years For Officers Training Academy: Male candidates (married or unmarried) between 19-25 years For more details,then see this attachment. |

CDS Stands for Combined defense services examination and this examination was Conducted by Union Public Service Comission (UPSC) Every year Two times, CDS (I) and CDS (II), For this year Both CDS Examination was already completed and those who have completed his Graduate degree course form a recognised university ad Those who appearing final year degree course may apply for CDS Examination. But If you are Pre-Final Year Student, then you are Not eligible to apply for CDS Examination because for this examination only final year Degree course candidates and have yet to pass the final year degree examination can apply but they will be required to submit proof of passing the degree examination to UPSC Comission. To apply for CDS Examination your age should between 19 to 25 years. But the age should Vary form Academy to Academy. For IMA - Your age should between 19 to 24 years. For OTA - Your age should between 19 to 25 years. For Naval Academy - Your age should between 19 to 22 years. For Air-Force Academy - Age should between 19 to 23 years. But you are Not eligible for CDS Examination Now because you are Pre- Final year Candidates and Pre-Final year students are not eligible for CDS. So, please apply for this examination, when you are Pursuing your Final year Graduate degree course and for more details check the official website - http://upsc.gov.in |
