Dear friend IES Stands for Engineering Service Examination.This examination is conducted by UPSC.

The eligibility criteria for IES exam:-

Candidate must have a complete the graduate degree in engineering from any recognized university or equivalent qualification and those in the final year of examination can also apply for this examination.

Age limit:-

Age should be between 21 to 30 years.
Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC and Reserved Category Candidates.

UPSC Indian Engineering Services (IES) Examination
(I) Nationality: candidate must be citizen of India.

(II) Age Limits: A candidate for this examination must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years.

Educational Qualificationsbtained a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India.

Indian Engineering Service exam notification for this year:
Issue of application form from 25th Feb 2012 to 24th March 2012.
Exam will held on 15th June 2012.

The final year candidate can also apply for this.

IES Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications :

Degree in :
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics & Communications Engineering
• Civil Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering

or equivalent degree from recognized universities.

• M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject is also acceptable for certain posts.
• Students of final year Engineering or equivalent degree are also eligible.

Age Limits :

Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years as on August 1st on year of conduct of examination ( upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs,OBCs and certain others )

The eligibility criteria for appear in IES exam is that just you have to qulify your engineering with any one of the stream like -civil ,mechanical,electrical,electronic and communication.from any recognized university.There is no any necessary percentage required,but it is good for you that percentage should not be less than 60%.

Indian Engineering Service exam is conducted by upsc every year once.This exam is conducted to intake qualified engineers for Government sector in different departments.

Eligibility criteria for Indian Engineering Service exam:
Education qualification:
Candidate should minimum graduation degree in Engineering from a Mechanical/Civil/Electric Stream.
Age limit:
Age should be between 21 to 30 years.

IES is the conducted bu UPSC board. it is on the basis of stream you have chosen in engineering mainly electrical, mechanical,civil ang electronics engineering. it is gerenaralist as well as sprcialist approach. you should know detail about your engineering subject in your stream very well in clear way as well as you should have command over aptitude, reasoning, english and general studies .there are both paper subjective as well as objective based on above parameter mentioned.

IES 2012 Eligibility Criteria And Syllabus

The eligibility criteria for IES Exam is as follows:

The total marks allotted for the above section is 1000.

Those who qualify in the written test will be called for a personal interview. This interview carries 200 marks.

The portions for Mechanical engineering are: Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Machinery and Stream Generators, Heat Transfer and Refrigerator and Air- Conditioning, Elements of Computation etc. The Electrical area will consist of Electrical circuits and Materials, Control systems, Power systems, Communication systems, Microprocessor etc. The final sections will be based on: Materials and components, Signals and systems, Electromagnetic theory, Computer Engineering etc.

IES (Indian Engineering Service) exam is conducted by the UPSC

In order to appear for the exam you need to fulfill the following conditions :-

1) You should have done your B.Tech in any of the following streams :-

Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering
Electrical Engineering


2) You should be within the age limit of 21-30 for general category..21-33 years for OBC and 21-35 years for SC/ST

the maximum number of attempts allowed for the general category is 4,for OBC its 7 and for SC/ST there is no limit

IES exam for engineering students.The IES exam olny for some core branches

so all branch student cant give IES exam.So its trhe basic requirment.

Only some branch student can give IES exam.

MECHNICAL ENGINEERING

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

CIVIL ENGINEERING

ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION


Only some of these branch student can give IES exam.

One requirment is also for IES exam that you should have complete your

ABOUT IES EXAMINATION -

IES Stands for Engineering Service Examination.

And A candidate possessing a degree in Engineering in any discipline is eligible for taking Engineering Service Examination.

So, If you have completed your Bachelor Engineering Degree course, then you are eligible to apply for IES Examination, For this examination you need Degree in Engineering or equivalent. M.Sc Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject also acceptable for certain posts.

But Your age should between 21 to 30 years Only then you are eligible to apply for IES Examination. Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC and Reserved Category Candidates.

But in IES Examination you have to choose the optional subject only from CIVIL, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING. You have to choose any one subjects from the given disciplines.

The Notification of IES Examination was Published in the employment newspaper or In the UPSC Official website, You can also Obtained the application form directly from the post offices in India and the cost of application form was Rs 50 For Online Submission and Rs 100 For Offline submission.

IES - Indian Engineering Service


As far regarding the exam it is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) and it is conducted every year.The exam is conducted for selecting candidates from departments like Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Tele Communication Engineering for Government of India engineering organization.

The exam is conducted in the month of June.The exam is a objective type exam and the candidates are selected on basis of written test and personality teat.

The eligibility needed for this exam is that the candidates must have a age limit of 21-30 years and the candidates must be a graduate in engineering.The candidates who are writing their final degree exam can also apply for the exam.

The candidates can apply for the exam either online or offline.

The notifications for the exam will be notified in the employment newspaper or you can also check at the official website of UPSC at http://www.upsc.gov.in

(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary, may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued by the Government of India.

(II) Age Limits:

(a) A candidate for this examination must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st August, of the current year

(b) The upper age-limit of 30 years will be relaxable upto 35 years in the case of Government servants of the following categories, if they are employed in a Department/Office under the control of any of the authorities mentioned in column 1 below and apply for admission to the examination for all or any of the Service(s)/Posts mentioned in column 2, for which they are otherwise eligible.

(i) A candidate who holds substantively a permanent post in the particular Department/Office concerned. This relaxation will not be admissible to a probationer appointed against a permanent post in the Department/Office during the period of his probation.

(ii) A candidate who has been continuously in a temporary service on a regular basis in the particular Department/Office for at least 3 years on the 1st August, of current year.

The IES examination is conducted by UPSC.
The minimum eligibility criteria to apply for the IES examination is B.Tech degree in any stream from a recognized Institution.

the eligibility criteria for appearing into IES exam are:-
1. the candidate need to complete his/her graduation in engineering in any of the discipilne like civil,mechanical, electronics and communication, electrical and electronics from the approved institutions..
2. the age limit is 21-30 years..
while the SC ,ST and OBC candidates are provided relaxation in the upper age limit....
general candidates have maximum 4 attempts...

ABOUT IES EXAMINATION -

IES Stands for Engineering Service Examination.

And A candidate possessing a degree in Engineering in any discipline is eligible for taking Engineering Service Examination.

So, If you have completed your Bachelor Engineering Degree course, then you are eligible to apply for IES Examination, For this examination you need Degree in Engineering or equivalent. M.Sc Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject also acceptable for certain posts.
