Candidates having degree of engineering are only eligible for the BSNL JTO exam. Since you are in 6th semester of your engineering so you are not eligible to apply for the BSNL JTO exam now. You can apply for this exam after the completion of your engineering.

The detailed eligibility criteria for the BSNL JTO exam is given below:

1.Education Qualification
Candidates having degree of engineering in any of the following subjects are eligible to apply for the BSNL JTO exam.
i. Telecommunication,
ii. Electronics,
iii. Radio,
iv. Computer,
v. Electrical.

Candidates who have passed the final year examination are also eligible to apply for the BSNL JTO exam.

AGE LIMIT
The candidates having age between 21 years and 30 years are only eligible for this exam.
There is a relaxation in age to the following category students:

Candidates belonging to SC/ST category have relaxation in age of 5 years.

If the candidate is a govt. employee or the employee of BSNL then there is a relaxation in age of 5 years.

If the candidates is physically handicapped then there is a relaxation in 10 years.
For the SC/ST candidates who are PH have relaxation of 15 years.
Similarly for the OBC candidates relaxation is of 13 years.

So the above eligibility criteria is required for the BSNL JTO exam.

The eligibility criteria for the JTO is that :

You have to be a graduate engineer in :

Electrical
Electronics
Communication
Radio and Radar
etc

You have to between 21 to 30 years of age when you apply for the JTO.

Final year students can also apply.

But since you are in 3rd year, you are not eligible to apply. You can prepare well this year, and apply next year.

No, a sixth semester student is not eligible to appear in JTO exam..
For that one must be either in the final semester or pass out candidate..

Eligibility criteria for BSNL JTO post:-

Educational qualification:-
For BSNL JTO(telecom):-
The candidate must have complete the bachelor degree in any of these field-
1.Electronics and communication
2.Computer science
3.Electrical
4.Radio

For BSNL JTO(electrical):-
The candidate must have complete the bachelor degree in electrical engineering..

For BSNL JTO(civil):-
The candidate must have complete the bachelor degree in civil engineering.

AGE criteria:-
The age criteria is same for all this post..
AGE-21-30 years..
For SC/ST the age relaxation is 5years, and for OBC the age relaxation is 3years..
