Hi

IPS : Indian Police Service

To become IPS Officer one has to clear a examination that is called Civil Service Examination.

This exam is conducted by UPSC once in a year.

The eligibility criteria required by a candidate is very simple .
->you should be a Indian.
->you should have 21 years of minimum age and should not exceed 20 years of age limit.
->you should be completed a degree of any discipline.

To say frankly there is no required percentage in degree. Just a completed degree mark sheet is enough as a Educational Qualification.

You need to just have an Attitude to help the nation by doing civil service. this exam will show you a platform to do so.

Once in interview of CNN IBN a Interviewer of UPSC Selection committee asked by a reporter that will you consider a person with just 35% pass marks to become a IAS officer and give him powers over the one who has more than Distinction percentages

then that person who is of UPSC board member said a simple answer that " We need excellent brains with divine attitude people, not the person with only cent per cent marks in his marksheet."

so by this one thing I conform you that there are many professional civil servants who has less percentages in their academics.

for your information once have a look into the notification you can get more clear details regarding this..

all the best for your selection.
