ips stands for Indian police service

eligibility :-

**you finished graduation in any stream

**age limit is 21 to 30 years

**then you apply union public service commission exams

**it conducts every year

**it consists of preliminary ,written test and interview

**you write csat exam

**many books are available in markets

**you purchase and crack the exams

For being an IPS Officer you need to go through the CSAT examination conducted by the UPSC Board.The eligibility details regarding CSAT examination is provided below:-

Age:-A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years.Age relaxation is provided for SC/ST and OBC Candidates.

Educational Qualification:-You must have completed your graduation from a recognized University to apply for the CSAT examination.

The examination is split up into three parts namely Preliminary Examination, Main examination and Interview.
Preliminary Examination
The Examination shall comprise two compulsory papers of 200 marks each.
NOTE (i) Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions).
(ii) The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English. However, questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level will be tested through passages from English Language only without providing Hindi translation
thereof in the question paper.

I have attached the notification below you can go through it.The notification will even consist of the syllabus part.

Main Examination
Totally there will be nine papers which comprises with 2 optional subjects i.e totally four optional papers.Other details regarding Main exam and interview is available in the attached notification.

For the preliminary examination you can follow books of NCERT from 6th to 10th.There is no specific book for CSAT preparations but here are a few books which you can follow:-
Tata McGraw Hill's (TMH) GS Manual for prelims,Our Constitution by Subhash Kashyap, Manorama Year Book.

Sir,
I am a student of engineering and I want information of ips. as I am wishing to apply for it. but i am not getting information relaed to it. so, I am requesting you for sending me information related to the entrance exam of IPS and when one can apply for it,and also which books must be refered.
