Re: Which subject is helpful in IAS exam? What is the minimum and maximum age? What are the Minimum qualifications required?

Dear Friend,

There is no specific subject that you have to choose for IAS Exam because you can give IAS Exam to whichever subject you want and whichever subject you have chosen as your main subject in your graduation.

The only thing that matters the most that in which subject you have the most interest so as after completing your 12th you can easily go for that subject in your graduation.

The Eligibility Criteria to appear in IAS Exam are :

* You must have completed your graduation from any recognized college/university.

* Your age should lie in between 21-30 years.

* You must be an Indian Citizen.

* There is also a relaxation in upper age of 3 years for OBC Candidates and 5 years for SC/ST Candidates.

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want.

Re: Which subject is helpful in IAS exam? What is the minimum and maximum age? What are the Minimum qualifications required?

Dear friend
Minimum education qualification is graduation or equivalent degree.
For general catogaries min age is 21 and max is 30.
However for obc and other reserved catogaries there is relaxation in upper age limit.
You have to give following papers in main exam:
english(qualifying paper)
any one indian language
essay writing
two optional papers of your choice.
Interview.

As preliminary exam is common for all.
No need to think about subject choice.

You have to think for subject choice only in the two optional subjects of main exam.

It is better to take that two subjects which is better at your graduation level and in which you are comfortable.
As this is the most scoring paper for you and decides your rank.
