Hello Sir,
recently I got 52% merit marks in 10 Exam from bihar Board.
I Am getting admission in a very good & reputed gov. college in Civil Engineering which gets a very good placement.
My second option is Mechanical Engineering & for that I Am getting admission in an average college which does not get a very good placement.
My first question is does Civil Engineering have a bright future?
Secondly does it require a very high command over physics?
Third which R the main subjects to be studied in Civil Engineering?
Lastly which R courses after competing B.Tech in Civil Engineering?
Please reply as soon as possible.[/QUOTE]

Yes,civil engineering has excellent future.Beacuse it is ever green branch in which raising and fallings are present. To do civil engineering it requires commond over physics beacuse most of the civil enginenring subjects use the formulae and concepts of physics. The main subjects in civil engineering are Geotechnical,Envirounmental,Strength of materials,Concrete technology,Hydrology and Fluid mechanics. After completing the civil engineering M-Tech,Intern ship training courses can lead to good future.

hello,
Its my privilege to help you in deciding which is best for you at this situation. first of all

Congratulations !! to you for your 80% and offers that you have got from the engineering colleges.

As a Engineering student, I have learnt one thing from my Engineering. i.e., Nothing but the Definition of Engineering itself.

Engineering: Is something which teaches you how to do things in a Scientifical way or by using Science in each moment of your life.

This is all about Engineering in my view for this we are specialized in different streams like some gets specialized in Electronics some in Electricals some in Mechanics, Some in Aeronautics and the some in your Civil Engineering

Whatever engineering they may choose the only ultimate goal for them is to make the simpler way to do work of they are supposed to do.

for example if a Bridge constructed by civil engineer with a plan of 2000 crore of 18 km long in 2011

The excellence of engineering should be done by another civil engineering with 1800 crore with 20 km long in the year of 2015 that should be the excellence in that way you have to show your attitude towards engineering.

Quote:
My first question is does Civil Engineering have a bright future?

After reading my previous lines is it necessary to ask this question ..? think No na.

i know you will understand that excellence in the work is more important than assessing the scope in future of the course what you are pursuing.

Everything is bright if you yourself think it is bright.. Right..? yes so it has very bright future like the others. Nothing is self luminous in this world except some intelligent minds and brains. so be bright by yourself your career will be automatically bright indeed.

So the final conclusion is what you love most you select that thing.
In your case it is very clear if you love machines you select Mechanical if you love the concrete monuments you select Civil engineering

As simple as that.

Life is simple don't make it complex by thinking overly on a small issue.

All the best

regards

Hi Rushi. Congrats for getting good branch in a good college.Well as referring to your question civil engineering is an excellent option. There are a great number of government jobs in this sector. As India is a developing country, a huge amount of construction is going around and more than that is required in the near future. Just see the development in Delhi etc. A large number of roads, bridges, flyovers are required now for developing India. Now a days private companies like L&T is doing this job for the government, So you have more chances of getting job there too. I am myself doing BTech in civil engineering from a good government college that's why i am telling you.
