Re: Minimum percentage required in graduation for civil services?

Hi,
All the graduates are eligible to apply for civil services.
But you need to secure a minimum of 60% in your highest quality through which you are applying.
Your age should be in between 21-30 if you are general.
For SC/ST there is the age relaxation of 5 years.
You can attempt for a maximum of 4 times.

to appear in IAS you must be graduate. you have no problem to appear although you have done graduation from distance education.

but you have minimum of 60% marks throughout your career if you are a general candidate. if you belongs to Sc/ST or OBC then there are some relaxation.

your age is now 25. so this is high time to appear in the examination. may be you are in last chance if you are general candidate. so appear in the examination and clear it.

best of luck.

Re: Minimum percentage required in graduation for civil services?

wandering about what you have done in the past will never really help you in persuing your civil service as a career...

the eliiblity criteria for you is simplyy

If you are a graduate from any discipline from a recognised university, then you are eligible for appear in civil services examinations.

And if you have a professional and technical qualifications recognised by the government, then you are also eligible for this exams.

So you need not worry about your percentages...

you can always....give your exam even if you have secured less percentage and it has nothing to with the qualification criteria of bank jobs,...

Re: Minimum percentage required in graduation for civil services?

dear friend,

As you want to prepare for civil services exam then i would like to inform you that there are no any criteria of marks in Civil services but you have to pass in graduation & follow some other eligibility criteria like age limit & no. of attempt etc.

& for Bank/PO, the candidate must have 60% in graduation discipline.

But you need not to be panic about the civil services, you are absolutely eligible.

good luck.

Dear friend
The best part of civil services is that only those students can qualify, who are very much sincere for their studies. But it is not affected by your past records.
You have not done good in the previous years but if your commitment towards studies is strong enough to boost you for Civil Services then you can definitely qualify the exam.
It's never too late till you are eligible as per the age criteria.
The age limit being 21-30 years for GEN category students with relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST category students.
The total no. of attempts a GEN category students can make is 4 and 7 for OBC category students. SC/ST students are not restricted as per no. of attempts.
You can visit the following websites for any information regarding the exam.
