Re: Future scope of Embedded Systems?

Hi,

Embedded system is very emerging trend of electronic components, with this, we can have application in telecommunications, defense instruments, railroad networks, electronic payments, and smart cards industry, mobile chips.

>> There is indeed a great prospect in future for this.

>> You can get training about embedded from :-

Vector Institute

>>This institute is very good and receive many accolades from PM of India.

>> Now Embedded system is primary technology of the future with Embedded Operating System (EOS) and symbiotic relationship between the Embedded software vendors.

Eligibilty:-

>BE/B.Tech in EEE/ECE/EIE/Electronics/Biomedical/CSE/IT/Mechatronics.

> MSC and Mtech can also apply.

To apply, you can click this : http://www.vectorindia.org/applyonline.html

Cheers!!

Embedded systems has a lot of scope in future. I am listing out the possible career paths for you--

1. You can move to the ever growing field of robotics after completing your engineering.
2. You can move to automation technology. This sector is growing at a very rapid pace and offers good opportunities for freshers and experienced pros alike.
3. You can move to hardcore electronics companies like nvidia, intel, ST Microelectronics etc.
4. You can chart out a career in IT companies like TCS, HCL. Both these companies offer very good opportunities in the field of embedded systems.

Embedded related Market Information and Future scope in embedded systems: | Print | Tell-a-friend
5.1 The industry academia gap in India
5.2 Indian Embedded Business Market Projection by ‘Frost and Sullivan’:
5.3 What are the future challenges India is facing while becoming major hub for embedded

WThe industry academia gap in India
The IT ‘outsourcing’ boom in India is now turning into ‘off-shoring’ boom. The earlier one was more of doing the ‘non-core’ software development for any of the North-American companies (From US and Europe) just because of low cost engineering talent availability in India. The later one is more of doing ‘core’ product development from India and it requires real ‘Quality’ engineers. If at all India wants to capitalize on this boom, number of quality engineers needs to be increased and the word ‘Quality Engineer’ is the need of the hour.

There are 6.5 (0.65 million) lakhs of engineering graduates and almost 1 crore (10 million) science graduates in the country and very few of them are ‘employable’ by the industry. The 6.5 lakhs translates into a suitability pool of about 2 lakhs and then the 1 crore comes down to about 18 lakhs suitable people for the industry. Apart from the above mentioned example, there is loads of media coverage on this latest ‘talent-crunch’ buzzword, but what is being ‘done’ to address this problem?

At one end bunch of fresh engineers are waiting in the queue to get jobs and at another end companies are feeling ‘pinch’ because of the talent crunch. There are multiple instances where companies are not able to hire quality engineers at the rite time and that resulted in losing the project itself.

Even though Indian IT companies are spending as much as 2000 US dollars (Roughly about one lakh) per fresh engineer to train them, it is proving out to be a costly affair for them. This is really a ‘reactive‘ approach and there is definitely a huge gap existing between the Academia and Industry.

WIndian Embedded Business Market Projection by ‘Frost and Sullivan’:
Of the $3.25 billion design market in India in 2005, embedded software contributed to 78 percent at $2.53 billion; VLSI, 18 percent at $0.58 billion; and hardware/board design, 4 percent at $0.14 billion.(Figures from Frost and Sullivan.)
The research company projects that the design market in India will grow to 43 billion in 2015 with embedded software contributing to 84 percent at $36.34 billion; VLSI, 12 percent at $5.09 billion; hardware/board design, 4percent at $1.64 billion.

W What are the future challenges India is facing while becoming major hub for embedded development?
In India there are ample amount of opportunity in the embedded domain as the Indian IT industry is making a big leap from ‘services’ to ‘product’ development. The Embedded Systems is the ‘heart’ of product development and there is a huge demand for Embedded Systems engineers. But in reality there is really a skill shortage in India where companies are not able to recruit engineers at the phase they want. Because of this demand-supply problem, embedded systems domain is one of the highly paid and hot areas in India today. If you want to make a challenging, sustainable and exciting career, embedded systems is the domain for you.

Hi,

See you have sufficient knowledge to enter in IT field. But the major concerned is your eligibility , as you have done masters in embedded , Most probably large companies will not allow you.

But you can start your career with small IT companies, which may consider you.

I will strongly recommend that you stick to your branch as in near future , its demand is bound to increase. Finally choice is yours.

Best of luck
regards.

Re: Future scope of Embedded Systems?

Hi,

It is a phase that comes in every electronics engineers Life.

As a fresher any embedded or VlSI engineer get low salary. But, I will strongly suggest you to stick here and gain some knowledge and experience. Do not worry about salary this point of time. once you gain knowledge and experience of at least 2 years , your salary will definitely shoot up.

Every embedded engineer have to face this phase.

Opportunity in this field is tremendous and expected to rise in near future. so stick to it.

Best of luck

regards.
