Hi friend
,
iam happy to share my knowledge with you
.
GPAT is a national level examination conducted by MS University of Baroda to provide opportunity for the graduates in B.Pharm to do higher study in M.Parm. The basic qualification required for Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) is a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy discipline. It must be a 4 year course after the candidate completes his higher secondary examination. The lateral entry candidates who have completed B.Pharm are also eligible to attend this entrance exam. Those candidates who are currently in the final year of the qualifying course also can appear for the exam.

Age limit for GPAT

Currently there is no age limit specified by the authority
.
Who can attend GPAT

All Indian citizens are eligible to appear for this exam. The foreign candidates can also attend the exam subject to the condition that their admission into the post graduate course as well as their scholarships will be strictly based on the rules set by MHRD, government of India.

Structure and Pattern of GPAT

The exam has a total duration of three hours and the question set comprises of 100 questions and each question carries one mark each. There will be negative marking for wrong answers
.
Application Procedure for GPAT

Candidates can get the application forms both by online as well as offline methods. The candidates who would like to choose the online option can cover all procedures very quickly by going through the GPAT official website. The candidates who would like to choose the offline option can request for an application form directly from the GPAT office by sending a DD of specified amount to the office. The details for filling up the form will be mentioned in the GPAT brochure. The candidates should follow the instructions strictly and make sure that no error is made and be sure that the application reaches the office before the last date.

Benefits after pass in GPAT

Most of the colleges demand for a valid GPAT score to be eligible to study for a master’s degree in Pharmacy in their institute. GPAT exam provides a great opportunity for the deserving candidates to gain scholarships\fellowships. If the candidate passes this entrance exam then they will be granted a scholarship when they join for M.Pharm.

Re: Admissions this year after B.Pharma if GPAT is not cleared for M.Phil?

Dear Friend

Most of the top government/private institution require GPAT score for admission in
M.Pharm. or they conduct their own entrance exams for admission in M.Pharm.
(e.g. BITS Pilani and MIT Manipal conduct their own entrance exams. )
You can get a college for M.Pharm. through management quota in some private
institution which do not require GPAT score for admission but I won't suggest you
to do so.
A one year career break is much better than an entirely bad career.
If you prepare well for GPAT for one year and score well in GPAT and get a good college;
I don't think you wasted one year. Your time is utilized completely and take the best out of it.
So, I would suggest you to prepare for GPAT again if you don't qualify this year.
