You haven't provided enough details for me to give you a proper answer. After completing 12th you can get direct entry into colleges for some courses available under B.Sc, B.Com, B.A etc and some diploma courses without having to go through any entrance exam.

However it all depends on the marks you have obtained in 12th class. As you may know DU, short for Delhi University offer direct entry for various courses depending on the marks you have obtained in 12th. But the cut off list of the DU colleges, especially the most prestigious colleges is nothing short of 98 or 99 percent. This is because of rising competition. Few years back very few students were getting 99 per cent in CBSE and other state board exams for 12th class. But now this number has only increased.

In such case you have to get higher percentage for entry into college for course of your choice.

Now if you are talking about other courses such as Engineering, Medical, BBA, LLB etc where you have to appear in entrance exams like

AIEEE

CAT

MAT

IIT-JEE

CLAT

and several other state levels exam you can get direct entry through the management quota. Every private college in India reserve some seats for admission through the management quota. This way students are not required to appear in any entrace exam and get direct admission. There are two ways to get admission through management quota.

Firstly you have huge donation to the college and get direct entry. This way your marks in the 12th class hardly matters.

Secondly if you have performed exceptionally well in the 12th class and obtained more than 90+ percent marks, some colleges would not miss out on opportunity to grab you. They will give you direct entry without having to appear in any entrance exam.

However this process is not always recommended especially if you are trying for Engineering college because several private companies do look into your performance in entrance exam while you apply for the job. This may hamper your jobs prospect in some companies, unless you score exceptionally well in the degree.

Re: Percentage required in 12th to join direct interview?

For most of the job especially government sector candidates have to first clear the entrance exam. They will be eligible to appear for the exam if they meet the required marks in qualifying exam. In the private sector there are some companies which call candidates for interview round based on the marks. But for them the minimum qualification required is graduation. Candidates with good academic records i.e. minimum of first class can certainly expect calls if they fare well in the entrance exam also.
