IPS stands for Indian Police Service :

This is conducted by the union pubic service commission under the civil services exams and for become a IPS officer then required educational qualifications are you must completed the graduation from recognized university and required age limit should be 21-30 year and here age relaxation for reserved category candidates as per govt rules.

If you want to become a IPS officer then you need to write and qualify the testes conducted by the civil services examination they include preliminary examination and main examination and interview. Apart from first conducted the preliminary examination and this exam consists of 2 papers and first paper is general studies and the second paper is optional subject selected by the candidates.

After qualifying the preliminary exam called for main examination and this exam consists of 9 papers and in that first 3 papers are general studies papers and remaining all are optional subjects selected by the candidate.

After qualifying the preliminary and main examinations called for interview is the final selection procedure.

Syllabus for IPS Exam :

General studies subjects are like general mental ability, Indian and world geography, current events of national and international importance, Indian polity and economy and more and here many optional subjects like agriculture, animal husbandry and veterinary science, botany, chemistry, civil engineering, commerce, zoology, statistics, sociology, public administration, psychology, political science, physics, philosophy, medical science, etc.......

Books for IPS Exam :

For all civil service examinations like IAS, IPS and IFS are conducted by UPSC and selection procedure is based on the above mention wise and for qualifying the each exam is difficult then you need to take the coaching from popular coaching centers and also refer daily syllabus and after that you can also read the many books are given bellow follow carefully...
