collector Eligibility-

To be eligible to take the ICS test you need to a graduate in any stream with age around 21-30.

The examination is conducted in two successive stages

Preliminary Examination consists of two papers of objective type of 450 Marks. Paper I is on general studies and Paper II on One optional subject

The Main Exam consists of a written exam and an interview. The written exam has 9 papers of conventional essay type. Re: Which degree is required to become a collector?

Graduation is the essential qualification to attend Civil service exams. No specifications are made about the subject area where in one need to take graduation to attend this exam. But on the other hand, a candidate can choose any subject for doing graduation provided it is taken from institute which is recognized by government. If you have attained more than 30 years of age you cannot attend Civil Service exams. You need to clear Preliminary exam, Main exam and Personal Interview to finally get in to a position in Civil Services.
